Abstract
The article deals with the role of turkic historical units in the study of ethnic history of turkic-speaking peoples. This issue concerning the history of metrology in the region is poorly studied. Therefore, the obtained conclusions are important for illuminating the history of measurement units. The comparative-historical method was used in the research. The objective of the work is a comprehensive analysis of metric units, compare the socio-historical essence, analyze their development.
