Abstract

This article describes the history of the study of the Amonkotan cave site by archaeologists from Samarkand State University in 1947. As a result of the research carried out in 1947, the Zarafshan oasis was first identified as a Middle Paleolithic monument. These studies were of great importance in studying the history of the Stone Age in the region.
