Abstract

This article analyzes the initiatives of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in the 1950s aimed at strengthening cultural ties through cooperation with museums in Uzbekistan. It also examines the historical processes associated with the promotion of museum activities through anniversary symposia and international events organized by UNESCO in the 1950s. The article explores cultural exchange and capacity-building processes through traveling exhibitions organized with the use of ICOM-developed catalogs and projects. The scale of events aimed at strengthening international relations in the context of global socio-political issues of the second half of the 20th century is also presented.
