Abstract
This article examines the genesis and evolution of the idea of tolerance in the works of Eastern thinkers. The process of formation of the genesis and evolution of tolerance is shown. The study covers the teachings of Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, Islamic philosophy, and also examines the contribution of Alisher Navoi to the development of concepts of intercultural and interethnic dialogue.
